Making a List and Checking it Twice
Making lists is therapeutic. This baby coming stuff is making me a bit wacko. Lists help.
To do before she comes:
1. Boil bottles
2. Boil nipples
3. Boil Breastpump components
4. Sleep
Still Need (for Petunia):
1. new nipples
2. socks
3. hooded towels
Still Need (for Me):
1. Lansinoh booby lube
2. New nursing bras
3. Industrial Vat of Preparation-H
4. 6 pack Case Keg of beer
5. Sushi
6. Feta Cheese
7. Steak (to be cooked Medium Rare)
8. Bottle Case of Red Wine
9. Pallet of Tucks Pads
10. Sleep
What am I missing? I know I'm missing something.

14 People are even more brilliant:
Other things to buy:
A case of sanitary napkins.
Nursing pads. Nursing pads. Nursing pads!
Did you wash her crib sheets? Pack your hospital bag? Check to make sure the baby monitor still works (if you don't already use it for Peanut)?
That round ring thing to sit on for your 'roids!
I agree that list making is therapeutic. Something about just making the list makes me feel less overwhelmed.
I still have the list I made last June before my little boy was born--it is so going in with his baby stuff.
Another thing for your list--the blue can of spray on Dermoplast--works even better than the Preparation H!!!
What about a Boppy? I never had one but always wanted one.
I absolutely LOVED the Lansinoh booby lube, that stuff is amazing!
I second the donut cushion! Good for you on the list - I made several before my first was born. I never did get around to making one for my second - just another thing to feel guilty about not being as 'switched on' as far as my pregnancy with him was concerned - oops!
Oh great list! I should know!
Don't forget to put back some of those ice pack things they give you in the hospital for your crotch. MUCh better than sitting on a bag of ice. Every time they bring you two, put one back to go home.
I lurved the boppy too but seeing how I gave birth to a 3 month old already too heavy to hold to nurse.....
I don't know what you have...but just remember all you really need is something to catch the poop and pee and a way to feed her.
My hospital bag was useless for the most part even though I packed it with everything on the list. I wore the gowns they gave so I wouldn't have to worry about ruining my clothing.
The only other things I can think of (some of which I myself forgot) was *Shampoo, soap, & razor for when they let you shower (at least shave your pits...I felt human again after that!). Toothbrush & Paste, and a hair brush.
I don't remember if you are having a csection (I would have to go back through and check and I am lazy at the moment) so if you aren't and only staying a day or whatever then you may not need them...but if you aren't having a planned section take them anyway just in case. I went in for a natural and ended up with surgery and I thought I was gonna die from nasty hair and hairy pits b4 someone could bring me shampoo and a razor!
Um... Oh, if you're using a diaper genie, make sure you have a fresh refill thingy in there, as it's probably empty from the last time you used it.
Also! You need food, lady! Either freeze a bunch of casseroles and soups and stuff, or stock up now on frozen pizzas, bagel bites, hot pockets, and whatever else is easy and fast. You won't be having the energy to make real meals, probably, but everyone knows a nursing mom has to eat round the clock!
Remember that everyone wants to help.
Let them.
Sit back, breathe and relax.
And use the preparation H under your eyes or you'll look like crap in the photos!
Looks like you thought of just about everything. I agree with Heather ... those ice pack thingies are the best, and I remember wishing I had snagged more of them.
I remember the Tucks:0
They don't produce warm fuzzy memories!!!
I'm sure it's the last thing you need.... but you could add this lovely online "game of tag" to you list. lol. If it's too much to ask just let me know and I'll pick someone else!

Oh I love lists! I had a ton of them when I was pregnant. Hmm actually I still am a list person.
