At Least It's an Attempt
You gotta have goals in life. You can't go anywhere without goals, I say.
Here are my goals for the week. I'm aiming high!
1. Try not to bitch on my blog about colic or acid reflux.
2. Record three weeks worth of receipts in the checkbook.
3. Do Pilates three times this week and go for a walk at least twice this week.
4. Try not to get pissed off at Tate because he gets to go to Knoxville for a party on Wednesday and Thursday.
Here's what is likely to happen.
1. I'll post a blog about my dismay at Prevacid's instructions on how to administer this f*cking medicine to an infant.
2. I'll record two or three receipts and get distracted by blogging the children.
3. Do Pilates once, realize how my "core" no longer exists. Moan the rest of the week about how damn bad my abs hurt. And the walking? Yeah, well, it's supposed to be 759% humidity and 1,000 degrees, so the walks probably won't happen.
4. I'll stomp around and huff and give the silent treatment because I have to stay home alone with the kids.
Hey, at least I have goals.

18 People are even more brilliant:
Yay! You got prevacid! I'm not sure which form you're working with, but my girl was on the 15 mg solutabs. If that's what you've got, here's what worked best for me (and I was doing this twice a day for about 8 months): get a pill cutter/crusher from your pharmacy. Cut a tab in half with the cutter (so much easier than using a knife!!!), then crush it up with the crusher (so much easier than using the back of a spoon!!!). Pour powder onto a saucer. Stick your fingertip into the powder. Might need finger to be ever so slightly damp. Dab up the powder on your finger then wipe finger off on baby's tongue. It'll be so much easier once she starts solids and you can just mix it into a bit of cereal. But first you have to suffer through the finger wiping routine for a while.
And screw pilates.
Just now saw your new template. Very schnazzy.
I'm with you on the shole home-bound wife, traveling hubby thing. I actually got jealous and sad and almost cried yesterday when The Mighty Hunter went to a furniture store to find a cabinet for his mini-fridge for his office - without me and without even telling me.
And about this mini-fridge... Does he really think HE needs it more than me? I mean really, who needs the contents of a mini-fridge more than a stressed-out-SAHM mom of a newborn?
Pilates sucks. I do tummy crunches with every complaint that Lucky makes as I drive down the road and everytime Stinkerbell says "mommylooklookmommy" I clench my butt cheeks. I'll have abs and buns of steel in NO time sistah!
Can I just say I LOVE the new layout???
Pretty, pretty new layout!
YAY PREVACID!! I hope it helps!
I was already smelling the BS by goal #2.
Lou Bear the Second is still MIA, little bastard.
We had prevacid with Cordy. We put the solutabs in a little water, mixed it up to dissolve, then gave the mix to her with a dropper. Putting it in bottles doesn't work - it just clogs the nipple.
Cool new digs!
Good luck with the Prevacid.
Luke is on Prevacid- is it the melting tabs? E-mail me if you need help-
We use to disintegrate the tabs W/ water, then put into a syringe then squirt in his mouth- it actually tastes really good. Really! He would take it no problem! Good luck!
Love the new look!
Glad the babe got some meds....hope it works!
It is good to have goals! I hate balancing the checkbook. I just look online at my statement...sad but true.
Good luck with the meds. Looks like you got some good advice on administering it.
Screw the pilates..I always reassure myself by saying that housework and child lifting is plenty of excersise.
When I began reading this I was going to say that you sure have some lofty goals, but noticed that you got a reality check in the second half of the post.
My goal for the week - try to get myself and the kidlets dressed before noon. Probability of that happening? Not bloody likely.
If you feel the need to vent about colic or reflux....just email me instead of posting! I won't tell...I promise! ;-)
But seriously, if you need advice on giving Shel the Prevacid email me. Logan and I have done both the liquid and the capsules (I don't miss counting out all those little granules!)...if there's anything I can do to help I'm here for ya!
Nice new layout!
Like a bunch of people have already said, I have disolved the Prevacid in a little water in a small cup and then sucked it up in to a syringe. But one thing to add - the pharmacy at Target has the best syringes. I was just not coordinated enough to use the bulb syringes everyone else has. The Target ones have a plunger. They will probably just give you one if you ask, even if you don't go there for your RX.
Oh goals are good.
My goal is to have some goals.
ha!
EW EW EW EW EW....I cannot believe there are RECIPES.
Anyway, I plan on having my tubed tied (if possible...considering the rising case of doctors and hospitals not doing anything surgical for contraception).
Having a V is not that bad for the guy...certainly more permanent and it is an out patient procedure. Just make sure he goes back for his checkup to make SURE he is shooting blanks.
And I am right there with ya with the pill being a libido killer. That is why I no longer take it and plan on more drastic measures.
Goals are good, i love number 4 (both times :) )
Goals are good. I only had one baby and I also realized that my "core" no longer exists.
I am all about the stomping and huffing!
Hey, nice new looks!
DS took zantac- but we used a syringe (CVS has the plunger ones too)- and kind of just squirted it in while holding him when he was crying....
Let me know if you do the pilates- I've been meaning to give it a try.....
