Karma Bit Us Them In the Ass

Without implicating anyone I know, lets say that "Jenni" and her husband "Tater" and their two children "Cart" and "Ellie" were in a little fender bender recently. Said fender bender was not their fault and they were issued a check from the other driver's insurance company.

As it turned out, "Tater" was able to easily buff out the scuff on the fender, leaving them with this insurance check.

"Tater" and I "Jenni" started dreaming of ways to spend this ill-received money...a new digital camera or money towards another laptop or maybe just put it in the bank.

They decided to go for a new digital camera, one with 10 megapixels and a large screen and image stabilization. Oh how excited they were, dreaming of the beautiful photos they'd soon be able to take! The moments they would capture! They couldn't wait to make their camera purchase with the insurance check.

Until later that evening when the garage door decided to go kaput. So much for spending the money on a digital camera.

F*cking karma. "Tater" and "Jenni" have learned their lesson.

damn you karma...
It always bites us too..no matter how much we think we might get one past the universe...

But look...you could take great pictures of your broken garage door!

How the hell does a garage door do that? WTF? Karma sucks! BTW--I have a mac daddy camera and half my pictures end up blurry. Go figure!

I remember getting a $1000 scholarship which was totally unexpected. Two days later, my car died - needed a new battery, alternator and pay for the towing to the shop. There went most of my money. Sucks a big one. I feel your (their) pain!

Looks like someone tried to back out the garage without opening the door... hrm..

Wouldn't want to implicate anyone, you know. :D

Karma can be one vindictive bitch!

So... did you guys hit the door or did it just land that way? What a bummer! I just hate house repairs.

We got our van back yesterday from a similar fender bender and a new range last week as well...$800 later...

Ouch! That sucks!

We just got new garage doors a couple months ago and ALREADY we're having problems with them. The Clozermatic people have been out twice in the last week. Can't anyone ever do the job right the first time?!

I don't see that as bad karma! Its good! You got the insurance check because you were going to need the money to replace the garage door! Sucks that you have to spend it on something boring, but it'd suck a lot more if you had to use YOUR money to fix it, right? Does that make me a glass half full kind of person? Cuz I'm really not.

That.

Sucks.

That does suck, but look at it this way.

At least "Tater" and "Jenni" don't have to pay out of their pockets for the new garage door. The insurance money will pay for it.

Bummer. Karma owes me one. My husband and I had big anniverary plans, he even bought me lingerie from an online site (pamperedpassions). We hired the babysitter my kids loathed and guess what she sued us because she tripped on her own flip flop. We apologized and paid her to avoid the hassle as well as babysitter money! I entered a free bahamas trip giveaway on that lingerie site....hoping karma will work in my favor this time.

I am Karma's bitch, too!

Nothing good happens which isn't followed by her reminders that she's still stalking my ass.

Let's put out a hit on Karma and do away with her once and for all...

Can't you sue someone over the garage door? Come on! This is America!

At least you didn't buy the digital camera already. I know 2 people - let's call them Andit and Jayit - who came into some money recently and bought a camera (funny, how they think like you). Then their fridge decided to go mildly kaput and now they probably have to call an exterminator for the wasps under the front steps. Stupid karma!

Poor Tater and Jenni...How do you know them?

Lainey-Paney said...

that's so the way it always works, isn't it?

So...the last time I got into a fender bender...instead of getting a new bumper, I just got a new car. I was done dealing with the repair shop, and my hubby knew it. He took me to look at cars...I made some comments...he went out that afternoon, and came home with a new car & some papers for me to sign. Oh....it was a good day.

I hadn't finished reading the story, but saw the picture and thought you were backing out of the garage to go GET the digital camera but forgot to put up the door. That'd have been ironic.

I'm starting to rethink the whole "home ownership is great" theory b/c of problems like these!

Damn karma. I hope you let Tater & Jenni know that I feel for them.

Oh no, things like that always happen. I hope you really DID learn your lesson...ahem...I mean I hope "Jenni" and "Tater" learned it. HA. :)

I keep waiting for that to happen to our garage door.. it groans and complains each time it's opened. Here's hoping there is at least a little $$ left over to start the camera fund.

Christina said...

That sucks, but at least you didn't spend the money first, right?

Oooooooohhhh, yikes. I'm so sorry. Stupid Karma Stupid stupid.

Wow- your garage door's got talent! This sounds like the time we had some extra cash and I was going to have a housekeeper come out a few times but instead our upstairs toilet flooded every level of our house avoiding anything I actually would have LIKED to replace.

Think how much better that picture would've turned out with your new digital camera!

When Crusher was first born, out of absolutely nowhere my in-laws gave us a $500 check. LITERALLY days later our washing machine broke, causing a huge flood in our house. And what was the insurance deductible? You guessed it! $500 :(

Poor Tater and Jenni. Tell them I feel for them.

What a hypothetically hysterical situation. ;)

Reason number: 4568 why I fear the home I'm about to purchase.

tell Tater & Jenni i think their door has a very modern art feel.

and digital cameras? they just get lost, i swear.

but still, karma IS a little harsh in the judgements, sometimes. :)

Hee hee.

Sell that sucker on Craigslist and get yourself I mean Jenni & Tater a new garage door.

Or not....you could always just park in the driveway and enjoy your new camera :)

Karma stinks! I feel this way often....I need to know why I am always taking one step forward and two steps back?!

Could you please ask your friend and let me know? Thanks!

Oh man. Your story made me laugh. That's so the way things go down in my own life.

The picture of the garage is amazingly clear so you can get by without that fancy camera for a while anyway. ;)

Oh no! That totally sucks. But what a funny post! You crack me up!

Oh crap. That sucks for Tate and Jenn@
