V-vivacious
A-attitude
A girl or woman with an exaggerated sense of self-importance. requiring a great deal of attention and excessive effort to maintain beauty, style and image.
(From Urban Dictionary)
Ella is only 3 1/2 months old and is already exhibiting diva-like behaviors.
Help me. If she's like this now, how is she going to be when she's nine? Thirteen? Seventeen?
HELP ME.
I get the biggest smiles out of her when I tell her how pretty she is and how pretty her clothes are and how pretty her smile is and how pretty her eyes are... Of course she also grins extra wide when I say "poop."
Miss Thang has decided that she likes to eat her meals in silence, meaning my silence. I am not to read stories to Carson while her highness is eating. Talking on the phone is prohibited as well. She wails and gives me a look that I swear says, "shut your mouth right now or there will be consequences!!!"
When she is tired and ready to go down for a nap or to bed, it must be occur at the precise moment determined by the Chosen One. When I am even 30 seconds too late putting her down, she protests, angrily thrashing her body around her crib. Her swaddling blanket has suddenly become a torture device, but her flailing arms keep her awake making the swaddler a necessity.
I cannot win for trying.
Thank goodness she's sweet some of the time. And cute, too. Really, really cute.
Otherwise, I'd have to send her to boarding school early.

33 People are even more brilliant:
Well, it sounds like the Chosen One has Mom wrapped around her cute little 3-1/2 month old finger!!!!
can i borrow her Highness during one of those sweet moments? 'cause she is so unbelievably cute i'm drooling here.
At least she's a girl who knows what she wants. My 6-year-old is like that, too ... and always has been.
Peanut has been like that since she was a wee tiny babe as well. It's exasperating and I fear for my sanity when she hits puberty.
What a cute outfit Ella is wearing as she regards us so seriously in this picture, as if to ask "what the hell is my mother complaining about??"
I'll trade you my Diva for yours....
Jen, she is a doll! I love those chubby cheeks. Embrace the DIVA... it only gets better (worse).
Levi is the same way about sleeping and he would prefer i STFU when he nurses
Aww, but she IS so cute! And I love that little dress. Sometimes the cuteness wins against demands. My little one knows how to get his way too. They just learn too early.
Aw! Miss Thang's got it going on!
The things we put up with from these adorable little people.
I'm dealing with something similar. NOt so much the quiet but the "DO NOT INTERRUPT ME!" thing. DO NOT DISTRACT ME, OR YOU WILL PAY! followed by thrashing, trying to throw oneself off the bed, etc.
Not pretty.
But he's so damned cute.
And Ella totally looks just like you.
she is sooo cute. sounds very much like frass.....i swear the minute i talk while nursing she stops .....she runs the show here.
Cara has that outfit. :)
I guess it's the uniform of every Diva.
I'm raising a couple Divas myself.
Oh boy! A diva with potty humor! Does it get any better than that? i think not!
Love her!!!
She is so darn cute, she should be a diva.
Are you as confused as I am about the swaddling blanket. Mine can whip those arms right out, but proceeds to bap herself in the head once she's free. I find myself reswaddling all night long. It's a bitch. When do we give it up?
She is so cute. And I love her expression--like, "Pardon me, did I AUTHORIZE this photo op?"
She is TOO cute!! She definitely looks like she has an attitude about her in that picture.
"Make sure you get my good side Mom!"
Adorable! Ahhh, I remember when I was 13...17...have fun. :)
My goodness she's ADORABLE. Those eyes!
I am ovulating and need to click off your site now. Thanks a lot.
She is extra-super cute!
It definitely sounds like you have your work cut out for you! :D She IS a cutie!
Too funny! At least you two understand one another! LOL You're right she's so cute and I love her dress! Good luck with the diva, I have one myself - she's 2 going on 12 . . .
Very cute little diva you have there!
Of course she's a diva, look at that beautiful face and lets not even get started talking about the divalicious gear you have on her I'm sure doesn't hurt either ;)
By the way do they make that adorable dress/top for 4 year olds ? I'm pretty sure J must have one .
Oh, come now ...
Look at that sweet face, those big, gorgeous eyes.
Who would believe such things? One can't even imagine that cute little thing flailing or thrashing.
(I have a diva too.)
How cute! And I love the outfit, too.
Mira is another little girl who knows what she wants, too. She is currently of the opinion that sleep is for wimps, and not being held all the time is unacceptable. Ugh.
So gorgeous! And don't worry about the diva thing (yet) it stays cute for a few more years.
You can't be that cute and not be a dive. My neice has been that way since birth and you are right, it only gets worse with age. Wait until she asks to go get her nails done at a "real nail place" when she is five.
My son was exactly like that! Exactly!
I knew his schedule to the minute. I'd always joke and say to people, "ok, in two minutes, BC's going to start crying because it's bedtime" Sure enough, every single time, I was right.
The nice thing about a kid with a schedule is you know what they need and when! The worst, they melt down if you don't comply.
This made me laugh out loud. She is cute.
I'll take the diva-ness if I can have one that cute ....
Yeah, yeah, I know what you're thinking ... let's see how that Tulipmom feels a year from now ....:)
She is a total doll!!!!
LB is the EXACT same way. I'd love to tell you it's not going to be like this forever but, er, forever must be longer than 3 years because we're still in it.
At least she's yummy cute!
