Winners and Loot

Thanks, you all for the great caption ideas yesterday! They had me chuckling every time I checked my email. Of course, I loved the comments in reference to Ella's resemblance to the church lady! Thanks for the suggestion to send that picture into Ellen, that's a fantastic idea.

I also loved any reference to pooting, as I'm as mature as a fifth grade boy and giggle uncontrollably at poot and poot references. My sides. Are. Aching!

Here are my favorites.

Rachel's caption said, "My mom calls herself Binky whaaattt?" Isn't that a great?!

Auburn Gal Always gave me several gems, but I loved this one the most. Sorry it'll only make sense to those of you who are fans of SEC football and understand my disdain for Alabama football and love for the Tennessee Vols. "Roll what?????" Love it!

Works For Mom's caption said, "We really live in ALABAMA Mommy?" Yes, babe, we do. We really do.

And my most favorite of all....Drum roll please....

MamaDB's caption...

"Ovaltine? Never heard of it."

Sorry MamaDB about not being eligible for the Jamaican cruise. Better luck next time!

***************

Although there were no actual winners in my contest yesterday, I felt like a winner after attending our city's semi-annual children's consignment sale last night. Take a look at all my purchases...

All! Those! Clothes! And! A Halloween Costume! And! An exersaucer!!! (I'm well aware that Carson is MUCH too old to be playing in the exersaucer, he was in there merely for the photo op. The littlest girl in the house is too little for it.

I just love going to these sales. These cheap children's clothes are like crack! And I'm a crack whore, getting my fix. It is only these sales that I feel like I can justify buying so many things at one time. I purchased entire fall/winter wardrobes for BOTH KIDS. It's just like drugs, I tell ya.

Also, I'm not above loving these clothes because of their name brands. I fully admit that I can't resist the lure of name brands, especially when I'm only paying maybe $3 for a Polo, Children's Place, or Gymboree outfit. If clothes are the crack, then the name brand is the Ecstasy.

When I make a large purchase like this, I love to spread it all out and revel in it's bounty. So! Many! Clothes! Would it be strange to lie on top and roll around in all it's ample glory? Well, yes, it would be strange and I did not actually roll around on my purchases. But I may spend the rest of the day, examining each purchase, reveling in their inexpensiveness, and imagining the kids frolicking in autumn leaves while wearing their new duds.

Saturday is half-price day!!

I may be having the Best! Week! Ever!

That is one thing I miss about where I used to live in TN is the consignment sales! They have shops up here...but at Home they would have like a huge fleamarket type set up and there were two that were within months of each other. Even though at the time I had no kids, I loved going with my sister to buy stuff for her kids and occasionally I would find something for myself and bought lots of nice stuff for my then SILs daughter.

Ah, the memories...

We had our consignment sale last week, too. LOVE it. Keeps me on a crazy natural high. And, I don't feel guilty after it's over.

I would've submitted a caption, but I felt too much pressure to be the best...and wouldn't have been, so I just didn't come up with anything. I liked the Ovaltine one, too!

Dude! You cleaned up at that sale. Sorry I missed the contest - I couldn't think of one witty caption. Looks like my brain really is shrinking...

My almost 4-year old still climbs into our exersaucer (which our 1 year old has refused to go into since he was about 6 months old) - I'm of the belief - whatever works, as long as you're not bugging momma.

I love the big consignment sales. We have one in Spring and one in Fall but they haven't done it this year. I need my fix!

We were in Mississippi last week visiting family and caught a huge one where we really racked up and had to borrow a suitcase to get all our loot home. Our little guy is ready for fall, Christmas, winter, spring, and summer. But there's more! We have one where we live in October. It's just one day, but everything is half off after noon. I've been looking forward to it for weeks! Who cares if he doesn't need more clothes? How can you beat such bargains?

Wow, you did great with the clothes. Looks like some great things there. I need to look for some consignment shops around here. Baby clothes are like crack! I LOVE getting my son new things. I'm mad that it's still too warm for him to wear his new fall clothes.

I'm SO jealous! I love consignment sales! So! Much!

I have a pile of great stuff to bring to the consignment store. When they are that young, their clothes barely get worn, so I can well believe you made out like a bandit at that sale and got some great stuff.

Ooo, good idea to check out consignment shops for an exersaucer as we never got one for S.B. Congrats on all your loot! I totally get the excitement. I always loved "fondling" new baby clothes.

Way to totally jinx yourself with "Best! Week! Ever!" Slow down there, cowgirl, it's only Tuesday.

That is an amazing haul. They had a consignment sale here in the spring. I went to it, but couldn't find a thing worth standing in line for over an hour to buy. Unless you're there first thing, you miss out on all the good stuff.

a few things...

1.I'm a runner up!!! yay me!
2.Phil Fulmer is one of my fave coaches for ratting on UA. I look at what he did like my self-righteousness when I call 911 for people driving around w/o their babies in car seats.
3.You can guess my feelings for UA in general.
4.I LOVE consignment shops. I can't find any good ones here anymore. sigh. And if I did, my kids are so tall for their age, I struggle in buying for upcoming seasons (guessing what their sizes will be.)
5.Lucky has the same exersaucer. and he loves it. It FOLDS! COOL!!! I took it with us to the Smokies and the hospital!
6.Buy some cute smocked things for Ella for me. I love smocking on little girls!
