Haiku Already?
Six months old today!
Still only 11 pounds
So tiny you are
First few months were hard
Such a feisty newborn girl
Thought I'd lose my mind
All is better now
Your smile, your charm, your laugh
You make me just melt
I have worries, though
Milestones not being met
Please sit up, won't you?
Baby girl, love you!
I'll keep you safe, gently guide
Stay feisty! Stay sweet!
Oh yeah, one more thing
It's time to sleep through the night
You are six months old!
To play along for Haiku Friday, follow these steps:
1. Write your own haiku on your blog. You can do one or many, all following a theme or just random. What's a haiku, you ask? Click here.
2. Sign the Mister Linky below with your name and the link to your haiku post (the specific post URL, not your generic blog URL). We will delete your link if it doesn't go to a haiku. If you need help with this, contact Christina or myself.
3. Pick up a Haiku Friday button to display on the post or in your sidebar by clicking the button above.
57 People are even more brilliant:
She is so beautiful! Some babies dont sit until 8 months. She'll get it!
Very sweet.
Don't worry about the sitting. Neither of mine did it til after they were 7 months. She's fine!
I think there should be some sort of rule that you're not allowed to look that good right after having a baby!
Awww, she is just beautiful!
Neither of my boys sat up until 7-8 months old, which flipped me out, because Gabby was doing it at 5 months! They are all SO different!
Gorgeous!
Photos.
Haiku.
All of it!!!
Happy Half Birthday!
Where did the time go??
Aw! I loved this one. So sweet.
Wow. She's alredy six months? Where did the time go? Seriously! How dare she do that to you?!!
That last picture makes me melt!
These photos are just gorgeous. That last one especially ... breathtaking.
It seems like just yesterday you were posting about her birth. Mine's not even here yet, and already I'm getting sad thinking about how quickly the first year will go by.
Happy Half Birthday Ella!
Happy 1/2 Birthday sweet girl. And sleep thru the night for your mama.
My biggest boy is 4 today...I wrote my post today and I'm still bawling...4 years???? (I am NOT old enough to have a 4 year old).
I agree...that last picture is the sweetest.
Don't worry, she'll sit when she's ready. :)
I love this haiku series!! HAPPY SIX MONTHS to you and your sweet baby!!
She's beautiful.
My son walked at 9.5 months and my daughter is almost 13 months and still not even close...They're all so different. She'll sit when she's ready...try not to worry.
Oh! I loved this! I really love the pictures interspersed with the poems. lovely.
-hh
How fricken cute is that face?
I echo Sarah.. she'll sit when she's good and ready!
okay...first of all, has it already been 6 months?!?!?!? secondly, has it only been just over 6 months since i first "met" you (just before she was born)????
she's so beautiful! don't worry about the sitting...it will come. Logan was almost 9 months old before he was sitting on his own. partially because of him being a preemie, and partially because of his GERD. apparently GERD can lead to little delays like that, but it's nothing to worry about...'kay?
great Haiku's! Happy 6 months, Ella!
beautiful baby
six months can fly by so fast
good luck with the sleep.
The Haikus are so cool and the pictures are beautiful. She is so sweet!
And the picture from the hospital - you both look fantastic!
She is so beautiful!! And how long after delivery was that picture taken? I have a right after delivery picture and I dare say I don't look that good!!!!! Loved the Haiku, I just can't come up with any!!! If I am ever able I will join in on Haiku Friday!!!
What a beautiful little girl! And those Haiku are just lovely... well done!
The sitting up will come, and the sleeping through the night... um, eventually. I sometimes feel like my oldest didn't sleep through the night until she was 12 years old. But my youngest started to right around 11 months. And my niece did right at 6 months on the dot. So, one can never tell...
She is sooo cute.
My nephew Taylor was behind on his milestones for a while, but once he turned one he was alll over it.
Try not to worry :)
Perhaps I shouldn't mention that my youngest didn't sleep through the night until 14 months? Uh...the torture.
She is beautiful, and shit mama, you are too!
Such dazzling pics!
Beautiful eyes!
Beautiful photos. I hear you about the milestones. My third didn't walk until he was 17 months old. I was desperate for him to walk. Mostly so I wouldn't have to carry him all the time. She'll sit when she's ready.
She is the most gorgeous baby! Milestones Schmilestones. the smartest ones never go by the "rules"... :)
She's so beautiful. Truly.
11 pounds, dude she's so teeny and petite. My niece was like that. Still is in fact. She may be like 28 pounds now. But she's freaking 3.5. Someone was posting that their kid was that big by a year. I can't even imagine. :)
SOOOOO SWEEEET!! Happy 6 months, Baby Girl!
I hope you have a fabulous day with her. It's gone by so fast!!
LM wasn't really sitting until 9 months, and then just barely. It has taken until 10 months to really be pretty good about it.
Hopefully, though, Ella will follow his lead and give you a good month of sleeping through the night before DUM, DUM, DUUUUM, the TEETHING begins. Joy.
(Today is already going better -- LM slept 9-3, 3:20-8:15!!! Yippee!)
She is absolutely gorgeous! Don't let milestones worry you. There's no real "right" time for any of them. Just obnoxious competitive parents!!
Great post today!
Great pics! I'm in love!
Oh she's so sweet!!! What a pretty baby!
Great set of haikus! And congrats on the six month mark. You did it!
I love (LOVE) her eyes in that last photo. What a CUTIE!! Man does she look like you.
And you know, one day soon, she'll just sit up like she's done it all her life.
Beautiful!
My niece is just at 11 months and JUST sat up and started crawling both at 10.5 months and her doctor said it's completely normal.
6 months already!
She's an individual. Cherish that. She will do things on her own time. (But I understand, it's hard not to worry.)
You're making me want another baby... darn you!
Too CUTE!
She is gorgeous!
Great haiku too!
Such a beautiful baby girl should definitely be sleeping all night for her momma.
& you? Are you freckly? I love freckles! You are adorable, too! (did you know if you type freckles enough times it doesn't look like a real word anymore?)
She is beautiful!!
Beautiful pics. Beautiful baby.
oh she is so beautiful. wish i had a girl!!!
Very cute pictures :)
How dare you post this gorgeous pics of baby Ella when I am desperately trying to fight of the feeling of needing to have another one ;)

(and i finally managed to remember it was Friday, even if i didn't post my haiku til after dark! can i still play?!)
Oh, that black and white picture made my heart ache. She is so beautiful!
Love the photos, and poems -- I can feel the love.
Oh, wow! She is so gorgeous.
Lovely series!
And let us know if the command works. And then the EXACT TONE OF VOICE YOU USED IF IT DOES.
holy crap - 6 months already!?!?
and only 11 lbs - soooo tiny! LOL
Love the pics :) I need an invite to photrade!
Wow. Better than a haiku is a collection of haiku about a baby -- with sweet pictures! Thanks! And you look mahvelous!
Oh, she is just beautiful! And I love your haiku. :)
Happy 6 month birthday little adorable girl. She will do everything in her own time my girls have really taught me that (i imagine you don't want to hear that Rebecca was two before she slept all night do you?)
What a cutie! Neither of mine sat up before 8.5 months. Mine didn't walk until 14 months either. Don't worry.
She is beautiful!
I wouldn't worry about the timing of milestones. Cordy didn't sit up until she was 8 months old. She did everything late, while Mira is doing everything early. She's probably working more on mastering logic and reasoning before putting energy into her physical skills.
And sleeping through the night? I'm wishing for that, too!
She's gorgeous!
My peanut didn't sit up until just a couple of weeks ago..she was just about 7 months. I worry too!
