An Update of Sorts

Allow me a moment of silliness as I chronicle the the events of Lou Bear's disappearance. Serious updates will follow.

First of all, pissed doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. He and his motley crew took the Escalade, bus and dump truck without even asking. They certainly don't pay the loans and insurance for these vehicles. While I'm impressed at their ability to hotwire, I wonder where they've learned this. Certainly not in my home. Secondly, I don't even know if they are even licensed to drive! And where are their seatbelts?

I guess they went partying out at the farm. Looks like they did some cow tipping.

Not sure what Lou Bear and Little Nutbrown Hare are doing, but I suspect alcohol was involved. Lots and lots of alcohol.

I was disappointed to see that Elmo was the DJ at this shindig. He should know better.

It looks like Lou Bear may have polished off a bottle of Jack himself. I am very disappointed indeed. He better not be a bad influence on my impressionable Peanut.

Thanks for indulging my silliness. Yes, I did take time out of my day to stage pictures for a blog post with stuffed animals. Look, I need some form of entertainment since I rarely leave the house! And how's this for crap!

***************************

Now onto actual updates.

Lou Bear turned up Friday afternoon. Peanut walked into the living room carrying that stupid bear. I have no idea where he'd been hiding. He promptly got himself lost again Saturday for a short while and on Sunday for a slightly longer while. A certain friend purchased a replacement Lou Bear (which I should have done myself) for future misadventures that will inevitably take place. Casey, you rock! Click this here link so my Lou Bear buying pal can go to BlogHer.

I'm feeling much better than I did this weekend. Thanks for your support yesterday and reminding me, yet again, how wonderful the blogosphere is and how I think of you all as friends. Truly. And people, the next time I go moaning and groaning, bitch slap my ass and tell me to shut up and stop whining. You all are too kind, I swear I wasn't compliment fishing. Cross my heart.

Sadly, Shel is not better. The Axid (not baby Zantac as I thought I was being prescribed) doesn't seem to do much. I think it's causing sleeplessness as she hasn't slept for more than a 4 hour stretch since starting the medication. She had been sleeping a little over 6 hours at night. The Hyosycamine colic drops are worthless as well. I don't know what else to say without whining, so I'll just say she's not better. Shit. I'm calling Dr. M to ask about Prevacid since so many of you mentioned it in your comments. (Yes, I really take your advice bloggy friends.)

22 People are even more brilliant:

That sucks Jennifer, but thanks for taking the time out to entertain me once again today. I especially loved the cow tipping! You inspired my blog post last night, so check it out if (and I mean if) you get a chance. Hang in there!

Great photos :) You need to do that kind of stuff sometimes.
If you're thinking it's reflux, have you tried propping her bed up a couple of inches?

Have you tried putting her on her belly yet?

As far as the plush story...check this link out:

As far as everything else...If you ped isn't helping find another. I know it is hard but sometimes you just got to go with a fresh face. Even the Zantac can make them not sleep. I had a friend who went through the same thing and she finally took him OFF the stuff...now he is fine. Eventually it will pass though...of course then it will be a new problem. :-D Hang in there!!!

Lou's gonna get it when he gets here and before he sets off across the country. It shall be his greatest saga.
As far as colic? I'm of no help except as a sympathetic reader.

Jennifer ~ That was hysterical. And hey! I love that Screw Kappa Napa cab ...I'll think of you next time I twist off that top.

I've been pretty out of touch with the blogosphere these past few days for a variety of reasons, so I just read your Blah-gy post. I've been there; I can totally relate. It does get better. Just keep indulging that sense of humor and it'll get you through the rough spots (well, I know your sense of humor will help me through my rough spots so I am assuming the converse is true as well).

Thanks for the story - it was great! (I always knew Elmo was a troublemaker)

I'll bet Lou Bear's drunken escapades were better than the real jaunt he took! Looks like you had fun. Everyone needs to get a little crazy (esp moms of newborns!!) to keep their sanity.

Good luck with the call to your ped. I hope Prevacid works for Shel. Wish I had advice for you!

I'm duly impressed that Lou Bear could tell time and knew that it was "quarter past Jack"...

Hang in there with the colic. It sucks. You'll look back in one year and honestly won't remember these days. It all becomes a faint blur. Every day brings you one step closer to her outgrowing the colic.

Damn that Lou Bear and his frolicking. Not only did you entertain yourself...you did me as well. hey , I'm easily amused.

Sorry about Shel and I hope things turn around soon for you!

I am impressed...especially by the cow-tipping. Those wily rascals!

Good luck with the baby. Probiotics? No personal experience, just have read a few things about them.

A sense of humor will get you through this time. Remember, Shel WILL get better, and every day leads you one day closer to The End of the screaming. Hang in there, and thanks for giving us some silliness to smile about today!

That was hilarious.

Note about the "second" bear....wash it when you wash the first one, or the first one gets all ratty and the second one stays nice and pretty. Or better yet, rotate them every few days so they both get ratty.

Our bunny is a sad little thing now despite getting washed on a weekly basis!

Jen, If you want to, also ask about the combination of prevacid plus actual zantac ... Ashley

Zantac worked wonders for DS- I hope you find something for Shel!

Cute pictures too.
