This is What Motherhood Has Done to Me
Woot! I'm so excited!
Tomorrow, I'm getting my hair cut and highlighted. I hope that whole saying about blonds having more fun is true. Goodbye blah, hello GORGEOUS!
And the best part (besides being AWAY from my children)? Someone else is going to wash my hair! Not being the hair washer for once is something I'm really looking forward to! (Forgive my use of a preposition at the end of the sentence, I'm just so excited here!!!)
Maybe I'll smear cheerios, milk, and cott cheeeeeee in my hair before I go to make it extra fun! I know I sure love cleaning that stuff out of Peanut's hair.
And maybe I'll see if she can wipe my butt when I go to the bathroom! I'd even be nice and sing to her while she did it! B-I-N-G-O! (You gotta click the link to get the joke, people!)
See what Motherhood has reduced me to??!! (Damn sentence ending prepositions!)
I have GOT to get a life!

23 People are even more brilliant:
Oh my god, you aren't kidding. Since my husband is on call right now I couldn't go see a movie like I wanted, so I escaped to the Great Clips across the road. Only I didn't get shampooed. But it was still nice to actually sit in one place without somebody crawling at my feet and have someone else play with my hair!
Enjoy!
The first time I went to have my hair cut/colored after Peanut was born, she was probably 3-4 months old. It was the first time I'd been out of the house without her and I was THRILLED. My hair guy is fabulous and as I was laying back having my hair washed and my head massaged, I suddenly heard something. I thought I was officially a mom because even away from my baby, I could still hear her cry. Then my hair guy starts laughing and says, "This is so what you didn't need!" Turns out some woman brought her tiny grandson with her to get her hair done and he cried the entire time. Luckily my booby faucets didn't turn on, but it was not the relaxing time I had planned.
Hope your trip is better!
OK now you are making me nervous...
Do people care about sentence ending prepositions??? Cause I am so guilty of that...
Just for the hell of it, make her wipe your butt...You will feel a weight lifting off of your shoulders, I'm sure!!!
tee hee
You know what I did the other da? Bought some nail polish. I hadn't painted my nails in YEARS...but I did find after painting my toes that I did feel a little prettier...even my husband later in the car told me I look pretty today. :-)
Of course, my finger polish has already started to ear off since I didnt get a chance to paint another coat on properly...but hey...I have a 2 year old...I can't not use my hands for 2 minutes.
:-)
Have fun!
Enjoy every second. I'm sure it's really busy there on the weekends so you might have to wait awhile and read a magazine or ten. But I'm sure Tate won't mind if you call and tell him you're going to be gone a little longer than you thought since they kept you waiting for a reeealllly loooong time (wink, wink).
Oh the sad, sorry state motherhood reduces us too!
Don't forget to put the syrup in your hair too!
Oh, man....I want to get my hair cut and coloured, styled....of course...I would have to grow some hair first! ;-)
Have fun!
I just remembered!
I use to get excited about the mailing running. How sorry is that that I actually looked forwarded to hearing the mail truck come down the street.
I'm working on getting that life!
Good for you Jen! I think it's true that blonds have more fun... maybe I should get my hair highlighted too!
Enjoy every minute!!!!
I'm jealous! I desperately need a haircut or something, and somebody else washing your hair is wonderful, especially without kid(s). Enjoy it, you deserve the break! I want to hear how it turns out...
On the one hand, kinda sad, on the other, so excited!
I haven't had my hair cut since December. I really need to do something about that...ugh!
Almost as good as the hair wash... the hair dry! Have fun on your me-date and enjoy your beautiful new do while you can... until your little one spits up in it that is. Bwwwaaaaa!
HAHAHAHA. Hilarious.
Yay for new hair! I bet your hair will look great even with whatever motherhood smears into it...
i want pictures!!!
seriously, good for you. there's nothing more luxurious - in my pitiful small life, at least - than having someone else wash yer hair. :)
Miss Jennifer, have an excellent time. I wish you the best haircut and color a girl can have (and is there any better wish a girl can give another girl?) If you do get her to wipe your butt, I hope you give her a good tip.
Ahhhhh --- have a wonderful time! Be sure to bring along a latte or another treat -- because you are NOT going to have to share it!
I totally wouldn't even notice the sentences ending in prepositions if you didn't point them out. Now I feel the need to go through all my posts and see if I do that. Darn it!
Also, totally jealous that your getting a haircut. I've been searching the web for ideas and can't find any that would look good on me! gah!
I love reading these "motherhood" blogs. I'm nowhere near that stage in my life, but I heard once it happens it comes at you with breakneck speed. Anyway, I just came across yours and your webring. Thank you! I don't have much to contribute in terms of the all-pervading topic, but I'll be an avid reader.
I hope you had a wonderful time alone!
Yes, kids do the oddest things to us. ;)
You'll feel like a million smackers afterwards. You're going to post pictures, right?
