Mood Killer

There's nothing like the sound of your son's voice over the baby monitor to ruin a perfectly lovely, kids napping at the same time, adults only Sunday afternoon.

"Mommy!"

"Daddy!"

"Thomas DVD!"

Those words are just. Not. Hot.

"Get up!"

Hot. But NOT when you hear it over the baby monitor.

35 People are even more brilliant:

I keep saying I gotta get rid of that monitor...But it keeps me unpregnant....

Bwahahahaha. Bwahahahaha!

Wait, I'm laughing WITH you, not at you. Because I've been in that exact same place and I'm so very glad I'm not anymore!

So, I take it a Thomas the Train DVD prevented a little Sunday "afternoon delight," huh?

I hear you!

Hey, at least he wasn't shouting I POOPED! or something similar. Not that that has ever happened to me or anything.

I'm sure every mother can relate. Too funny!

Oh, I'm sorry...but that is just too funny. The Little Mister is still too small to be crying out words, but it does seem that every single time something starts to happen in the bedroom he cries. All we can do is laugh. :)

Ah yes. Birth control.

Heidi Hyde said...

Good one, I'll give you that. But how does the sound of a child, coughing, coughing-gagging, and then Barfing all over his crib stack up?

:)

Hey-- I made you something. Come over if you have a chance.

The kids just seem to have a radar for these things, don't they?

I'm getting better at "tuning out" - but to be called by name BY YOUR KID while doing it...that is just wrong.

Phoenix said...

That is so wrong and I'm sorry....but ti is kinda funny. :)

Rachel said...

Laughing hysterically! Seriously, we've been there.
Thanks for the giggle.

Bren said...

Yep, I'm convinced that all kids come with a built in radar that lets them know when their parents are trying to get it on. It's an innate ability.

We had childless friends over for the weekend....and I'm pleased to report that my children are now offering their birth control service to others as well :)

LOL, figures. Similar things have happened here too, even worse we have no door- our room is a loft. Lots of potential for embarrassing mood killers for many years to come for us too! lol

Been there. Done that. Did you ignore him?? This is the reason I'm impressed there is an Ella at your house. With things like this and me being tired ALL the time, there is no chance of a new baby.

Wow...Husband and I had the exact same afternoon!

Next time? Monitor turned down.... LOL

Naps...huh...uh yeah none of those going on at our house anymore.

Steph said...

INSTANT mood killer right there!

Someone doesn't want another baby sister ;-)

Amy said...

Yeah, seriously! We have the same situation here, only it is early morning since we have no naps.

Did you hear me? NO NAPS.

That was just too funny - just wait until he's out of a crib and into the bed. We put up a baby gate on Quinn's doorway to prevent any tragic experiences (for him and for us). =)

Cheap birth control indeed! :) Farking monitors!

suchsimplepleasures said...

oh, i so have that happen...far too often. only, there are no more monitors...usually, it's the actual child that pops in to our bedroom. and, usually, it's not when it's light out so, thankfully, they don't catch a glimpse of things they shouldn't be catching a glimpse of!

Serina Hope said...

Wait a minute...that sounds exactly like my Sunday, except it was Star Wars not Thomas...spooky lol

justmylife said...

Well, at least you don't have to worry about getting pregnant anytime soon!

I've resigned myself to the fact that both of my kids are not nappers, but are good nighttime sleepers. No afternoon delights over here...

Oh yeah? How about knowing you have the length of time of the "Talk to the Animals" song on the mobile to get the deed done? I would so love to blog this, but I don't think Scout would be amused....

that is too funny, we had a similar sunday... although we got started while he was drifting off to sleep and still saying "no, mommy don't go"... i really enjoy your blog!
