Duck! Here Come the Bullets!! Version 2 y.o.

For those of us busy moms on the go, here is a brief synopsis of several posts in my head presented in handy and convenient bulleted list form.

  • Yesterday's photo montage has been taken down since every time I tried to watch it, my computer would lock up. So sorry if it caused you the same hassle.
  • Speaking of yesterday's post, I tried and tried to write a sentimental letter for Carson, but I kept focusing on his colicky start to life and writing sentences like "I'd have given you away if a nice couple had by happenstance, knocked on our door and offered to give you a loving home."
  • Carson's party went off fabulously, the only spill was my own. My kitchen floor has yet to be mopped, which MUST happen rather soon or it's possible our feet could become permanently affixed to the lemonade covered floor.
  • Carson chose the day of his party to lay off the incessant whining of which he's suddenly become the resident expert. All party attendees should be eternally grateful. I for one, am eternally grateful for this unexpected day of respite from his whining. On Friday he whined so much while I was failing at decorating his baseball cupcakes, I had to put him in his room for his own safety.
  • His excitement for the Thomas the Train videos that he received courtesy of The Queen of Shake-Shake, by far surpassed the excitement of any gift Tate or I gave him. He rejected the Hi-5 video with disdain, was befuddled by the Mr. Potato Head, and rode his 4 wheeler for all of 2 minutes.
  • Baked beans could very well end up being the catalyst for beginning marriage counseling. I was heard saying this sentence on Saturday, "Yes, Tate, they are delicious, but nobody should eat that many baked beans at one sitting. If you eat all of those, you'll be sleeping on the couch." Check out my recipe blog for the recipe. They really are great, but should be eaten in small doses that can be managed effectively in your body.
  • Have I mentioned I got a new camera? No? That's odd, I'm sure I'd mentioned it since I love it so freaking much...Anyway enjoy a few pics from this weekend. And yes, Janet, I do have a few pictures of Ella, but sadly far fewer than I have of Carson.

I had the same problem last Christmas. I was outdone by my BFFs introduction of the GeoTrax. If you need an idea for C for Christmas? Get a GeoTrax set. My stuff? Crap. My mom's stuff? Crap. They only thing he liked? C's GeoTrax. Yay for being outdone by someone else! I'll drink to that.

I'm glad the party was a success and that Carson decided to lay off the whining.

I'm laughing at part about being outdone in the presents department. My mom keeps bugging me about Chanukah ideas for SB (it's early this year, only about a month away!) and I keep telling her I need more time. Truth is I have some ideas but I'm hoarding them all for myself. I'm getting a little tired of being outdone by the grandparents. I'm sick, aren't I?!

so glad the party day went well.
i'm very happy for you that he decided not to whine. i know that would've just added to the chaos.

I too know the lure of DVD's. That's all Elliot wants to do lately - screw educational or imaginative toys, she likes being a couch zombie.

It looks like Carson had an excellent time. And I'm so happy the whining ceased. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard, isn't it?

It's great that he behaved well for his party. I distinctly remember being sent to my bedroom for most of my birthday parties when I was younger. Not that I remember my second birthday, but I'm sure I was probably a terror on that day as well. Glad Carson is much more well-behaved, at least in public!

Congratulations on what sounds like a great party. I was able to watch the video montage, and it was beautiful!

What cool Thomas gear he has on there!

I'm so sorry for the videos...I never meant them to eclipse such a cool four wheeler! I mean, come on! Who doesn't want their own set of wheels?!? Boyz...never understand them.

Well done on the pictures.

He looks so dam cute on that 4 wheeler with his little helmet and pads.

This will be the last year that a 4 wheeler goes unnoticed. Trust me, enjoy it. I'll never forget my niece playing with the ego waffle box when she was 19 months, her Christmas gifts going untouched.

When I was pregnant, I had a hankering for baked beans. So I went to the store, bought a can, which were incredibly inferior to my moms (and yours it seems) and well, pregnancy + baked beans = you can see where this is going, right?

I thought my insides would explode and that my ass should have been labeled a WMD.

And my nephew tossed aside all the art supplies I bought him for his birthday for his SpongeBob "bideo" game. I suck.

Ah the colick...makes you want to forget it all doesn't it?

Glad he had a great day...Glad you did too.

So glad he had a great day even if mom and dad were outdone by Thomas.

Still jealous of your camera.

I love pics of kids eating cake! There's something about a toddler with cake all over his face...

I have no idea why but the concept of Mr. Potato Head being a befuttling (?SP) creature is hilarious to me --- I think Carson is SO right in not understanding him --- I mean what kind of toy would encourage one to deform a face? Isn't life confusing enough - at any age, that is. Ash in Okla

Smart kid to dis High 5. They suck ass!!!

P.S. I snorted at this: "I'd have given you away if a nice couple had by happenstance, knocked on our door and offered to give you a loving home."

A bulleted list to catch up on all the blog post ideas floating in my head...great idea! Sounds like a great party, especially with a whine-free birthday boy! It must be the age, as we're experiencing the same whininess. ugh
